Man, is there an injury-prone over-the-hill range-limited outfielder that Omar can’t be enticed to take a flier on? Can’t this guy ever just sign a guy you know is going to give you 25 HRS to play left-field without flipping into Expos treasure hunting mode?

I may take back Guillen to rid ourselves of Castillo.
Guillen has some power and a good arm.
Guillen-Pagan in left would actually be fairly productive - a lot smarter than dealing for Pat Burrell.

And Wally - Omar never did any treasure hunting when he was with the expos - all he did was mortgage.

Of course it would probably be smarter to release Castillo, eat his contract, and play Pagan in left.
Pagan is injury prone but he can play defense and run and he has a bit of pop - maybe more than Guillen has left at this stage.
The article lists Pagan as a young outfielder - he isn’t so young anymore. I DO feel like he could string together a Bernard Gilkey type season. If we spend out money on the rotation, the pen, and on Castillo’s replacement (luis being moved to the front office as a special assistant to Omar - maybe they can distract each other from screwing up as much).

If we truly are out of the Lackey sweepstakes - as Bill Madden suspects-
then maybe the Mets can pick up Ben Sheets and Eric Bedard. If either of them proved healthy we would have our top tier starter, and as discussed before we have a host of #4’s to step in when back and ass muscles get pulled.

If I were a giants fan in that stadium right now, I would get up and walk out. Just walk the hell out. Not even a fg for that effort. Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Awful.

Atlanta is just as inept as the Giants. Very ugly. This will come down to who plays less shitty.

Jenkins just dropped a ball in the endzone that my grandmother could have caught. Nobody on him at all. Amazing.

Both of these teams are hideous.

If they were both wearing their white uniforms, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

I thought that “late hit” was a bit of a weak call, by the way.

You talkin bout the one where he pushed him out of bounds? I thought the call was justified. That’s why I wrote Giant players = dumb. Everyone on this team just makes the worst decisions.

I dunno. Guy still had a foot in bounds. If I’m the Giant player, I can’t take the risk that he’s out. Gotta push him all the way.

The defensive hold was a dumb play though. So obvious and unnecessary.

No doubt on the defensive hold. It’s as if both of these teams are working to hand the victory over to the other.

It’s like, no! You take it.

Oh, no! I insist. You take it.

Oh please! We have plenty of wins. Here. You take it.

But I couldn’t! Please, don’t insult me. You take the win.

Nah, been to busy to give Chris a call. We’re hosting a bit of a dinner party tonight. We flew and our flight tonight is at 10.

Did go to the Penguins/Thrashers game last night. NHL officiating is at an alltime worst.

Hosting a dinner party, eh? Quite the socialite! Glad you’re having a good time.

How’s Lorraine’s mom? I assume she’s doing well since you two decided to make the trip.

And I’m sick of hockey right now. Rangers are unbearable. I was so excited to see this season start and it’s completely fallen to shit.

Lorraine’s mom is doing okay. The oldest brother is taking care of her this weekend. She’ll need pretty constant care for the next six weeks or so.

As far as I know, Storky. They’ll reexamine her, see if the bone healed itself. If not, they’ll do some minor surgery.

That was a lot harder than it had to be, but I’m not surprised. No such thing as a bad win, but boy was this ugly. Does not bode well for the Thanksgiving game. Denver sucks, but it’s a short week and the Giants are still playing like shit. I don’t know. I just don’t know.
