Bale is a freak. Just watch machinist. He was suppose to lose “some” weight for the part and in turn wound up losing 1/3 of his body weight. Guy takes his job way too serious.

UPDATE: Mejia has a strained right middle finger. He was placed on the DL retroactive to July 4th.
That’s crazy!! So there’s a good chance you got a defective firework that could have killed someone. If you can’t trust firework manufacturers, who CAN you trust?
lol…..we were so freaking lucky. There was plant and bush shrapnel everywhere. We had black powder marks on our shirts and pants and a few very minor burns on our arms and legs. Never again man. I learned my lesson.

Surprise, surprise.

LOL. Get out? Damn.
I heard the rumors that the dude is a wacko but damnit I didn’t know how bad. Here is an insight into his batshit craziness from an article by GQ magazine:
Q: The bodybuilding and unbuilding you’ve done for your roles is alarming—the former all the more so for its being accomplished without any animal protein.
Bale: Actually, I’m in and out of the vegetarianism now. But yeah, the majority of the building up you’re talking about was done when I was still a vegetarian.
Q: When did you fall off the wagon?
Bale: Just after I’d completed American Psycho [for which Bale, as the preening sociopath Patrick Bateman, got furiously ripped].
Q: Dietary reasons? Or something to do with the character?
Bale: I was up in Toronto and went to see that movie Life Is Beautiful. By myself. And when I came out, I had a craving for blood unlike anything I had ever experienced since I decided to go vegetarian at the age of 7. It was a compulsion. It was undeniable. I went to several restaurants, one right after the other, and got the biggest, bloodiest steaks I could get my hands on. It was the first time I had tasted flesh in almost twenty years.
Q: Life Is Beautiful.
Bale: Yeah.
Q: That makes sense.
Bale: Yeah.

Bale was very believable in American Psycho - um, almost TOO believable!
“Not the face, not fucking face.” That dialogue was captured in his make up room and then they dubbed it over the scene where he drops the chain saw down stairwell.

My nephew has been a vegetarian all his life. Of course, that’s thanks to his parents as opposed to some sort of childhood philosophy.
Same thing with organized religion I suppose. How many people are Catholic or practicing Jews because they were indoctrinated at an early age and never questioned those beliefs?

dude that bale quote is fucking awesome in its lunacy. Even more if you know what that movie is about. hahaha
It’s actually from the movie. He says it to one of the prostitutes he kills. He tries wrestling her down to the ground and she kicks him in the face to get away.
I was just playing on his T3 on the set blow up where I envision him going off on the crew of every movie he works on. Even Newsies.

favorite AP quote:
In ‘87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is “Hip to be Square”, a song so catchy, most people probably don’t listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it’s not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it’s also a personal statement about the band itself.

Patrick Bateman: Do you like Phil Collins? I’ve been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn’t understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins’ presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group’s undisputed masterpiece. It’s an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Sabrina, why don’t you, uh, dance a little. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I’ve heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your asshole. Phil Collins’ solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. Sabrina, don’t just stare at it, eat it. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.

Patrick Bateman: There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have now surpassed. My pain is constant and sharp and I do not hope for a better world for anyone, in fact I want my pain to be inflicted on others. I want no one to escape, but even after admitting this there is no catharsis, my punishment continues to elude me and I gain no deeper knowledge of myself; no new knowledge can be extracted from my telling. This confession has meant nothing.

From Vinny G:
I feel very happy that Bush is our president. One way that you can tell we have a good president, is by how much the French dislike him. The more the French hate him, the better he must be. And they hate this one.
I stopped painting in 1990 at the peak of my success just to deny people my beautiful paintings. And I did it out of spite.
The good thing about bicycling is that, since I`m a public figure, I don`t have to interact with people. If I walk from here to West Broadway, 50 people will stop me. On my bike, I can just wave. More public figures should ride bikes
I don`t trust or love anyone. Because people are so creepy. Creepy creepy creeps. Creeping around. Creeping here and creeping there. Creeping everywhere. Crippity crappity creepies.
I`m not an artist, I`m a hustler. As a hustler I`ve done many things. You should really believe it when I tell you that, `cause I`m not being sarcastic. I`m a total hustler. What that means is I`ve hustled to make a buck and I`ve hustled to change the world.

So much for the slumping Phils
1st Inning Phils 10, Reds 0
i fear the mets woke them up :(
I fear they’re essentially healthy, Phillies fan moaning bitching notwithstanding, and the Mets aren’t.
NL East after 81 Mets games 2008:
Phils 44-39 –
Marlins 42-39 1
Mets 40-41 3
Braves 40-43 4
NL East after 81 Mets games 2009:
Phils 42-37 –
Marlins 43-40 1
Mets 39-42 4
Braves 39-42 4
Not sure it means anything but I’d never have guessed the ‘09 standings are nearly identicle to where they were a year ago.
The Phils 22 runs tonight (thus far 8 innings) is more runs than I think we’ve scored the entire last week.
OMG THE PHILLIES ARE BACK
WE WOKE THEM UP
