maaaaaann. It was a scorcher today….Had to swig your beers or they got warm instantly. I drank a ton, and didn’t have to get up and go to the bathroom once. Sweat it out. Old guy next to me offered me a salt pill?

DL, I’m not talking just at the plate….I’m talking about dropping game winning pop-up 9th inning game clinchers. I’m talking about scoring 0 runs and giving up 15 when your teams ace is on the hill. I’m talking about 3 errors in the game yesterday. I’m talking about getting 1 hit by a SP who we just saw a week ago.

As I already stated the Yankees and the Cards have the same amount of wins. You tell me why they play so bad against the Yanks? This has been 5 games now.

i know it would be different with no injuries or less injuries but i would fire jerry for some of his stupid moves….

We’re we also swept by the cardinals early this season? lol

    3-4 against the cards

    1-4 against the yankees

we haven’t played great baseball against anyone this year

we’ve made these same kind of mistakes against the pirates, dodgers, braves, marlins, phillies, rays, o’s, whoever

we simply don’t have enough good baseball players

  7. Comment posted by John on June 27, 2009 at 10:21 pm (#1021159)

or well we do have good baseball players they are just mostly injured lol

Even though the Yanks have the same record…I would say they are better right now. We are way to streaky and unbalanced. We got nobody but Al. When we played you earlier in the year we were better. Ludwick and Ankiel got hurt and have not been worth a poop since. You guys contained Pujols, the rest of our buttholes didn’t step up. Except Pinero.

and unlike a lot of teams, the yankees have a lot of the kind of players who make you look silly for playing terribly

  12. Comment posted by JTR on June 27, 2009 at 10:22 pm (#1021162)

just listen to the way jerry talks, i am so sick of his attitude, “we will need a break, an error or something like that to amass anything.” are you serious ? is that something you want to hear your manager say ?

  13. Comment posted by Super T on June 27, 2009 at 10:23 pm (#1021163)

We will see what happens tomorrow against the mighty Ching Ming Wang and his 16 run ERA, or whatever it is now.

relatively speaking, meaning like 2-3 runs over 6 innings

  19. Comment posted by John on June 27, 2009 at 10:27 pm (#1021167)

I’m going to say we score runs tomorrow…4-6 runs..

I can see this team bouncing back.

  20. Comment posted by Bob Loblaw on June 27, 2009 at 10:28 pm (#1021168)

Jerry is depressed, and depressing. Despite his pathological chuckling. F–k him. Get Wally Backman in here, stat.

  21. Comment posted by Bob Loblaw on June 27, 2009 at 10:28 pm (#1021169)

    I agree with John lol.

  22. Comment posted by John on June 27, 2009 at 10:29 pm (#1021170)

For all the suck lately, they have shown tendency to bounce back at least.

    Look………jose is running lol

  25. Comment posted by JTR on June 27, 2009 at 10:31 pm (#1021172)

he said dessens and misch threw well ? i guess giving up 2 homeers one that went 599 ft means pitching well

  26. Comment posted by Super T on June 27, 2009 at 10:31 pm (#1021173)

If they can’t hit Wang tomorrow they should really hang it up.

  27. Comment posted by John on June 27, 2009 at 10:32 pm (#1021174)

yeah……I mean as long as the phillies suck we are still in the thing :)

at this rate I dont care if we go 81-81 as long as 81 wins gets us into the playoffs lol

  28. Comment posted by JTR on June 27, 2009 at 10:32 pm (#1021175)

dl here is the problem with that ….do you think the defending world series champs are going to play this bad up until lets say the end of july ?

  29. Comment posted by Super T on June 27, 2009 at 10:33 pm (#1021176)

Wang has had ZERO QS this year.

  30. Comment posted by Super T on June 27, 2009 at 10:34 pm (#1021177)

The Phils are going to get Ibanez back, and trade for a decent SP or two, and they will right themselves.

  31. Comment posted by John on June 27, 2009 at 10:34 pm (#1021178)

    Probably not.

At the same rate I dont see the mets playing this bad until end of July either.

I mean ppl tend to forget June was gonna be a tough month even at full strength

    Yankees, Tampa, Philly, St Louis

  32. Comment posted by Super T on June 27, 2009 at 10:34 pm (#1021179)

AJ looks like someone you would run into at a mosh pit.

  37. Comment posted by Bob Loblaw on June 27, 2009 at 10:38 pm (#1021183)

We can always pull a Rockies. Get everyone back and go 21 out of 22 in September and squeeze into the wild card by a game. You never know. This team is bascially AAA right now and we’re lucky for any win we can get.

  38. Comment posted by Super T on June 27, 2009 at 10:41 pm (#1021184)

    DL = Chris Carlin.

  39. Comment posted by JTR on June 27, 2009 at 10:43 pm (#1021185)

  44. Comment posted by John on June 27, 2009 at 10:46 pm (#1021188)

july sees teams like cincy, washington, houston arizona and atlanta

we do have three against philly which right now they are struggling just as much as we are

    also dodgers and colorado.

I’d say July is alot easier then June tho.

  45. Comment posted by Bob Loblaw on June 27, 2009 at 10:51 pm (#1021189)

Bottom line: keep fighting until you’re mathematically eliminated. Which won’t be for at least 6 weeks yet.

  46. Comment posted by Bob Loblaw on June 27, 2009 at 10:52 pm (#1021190)

As long they hold out until football season starts, I’ll be ok. To tell the truth they really couldn’t possibly disappoint me any more than they already have, and I’m still here with my stupid Mets shirt on in a city that is not even New York.

  47. Comment posted by JTR on June 27, 2009 at 10:58 pm (#1021191)

the thing about philly is that besides ibanez, their stars are struggling….not 2nd and 3rd level players

  48. Comment posted by John on June 27, 2009 at 10:59 pm (#1021192)

    we’ll be fine.

Just hit with unfornate crazy number of injuries this season.

Maybe. Perez wasn’t going anywhere. Ankiel will be gone, Glaus gone. Yeah we can afford him. He’s the type of player the fans here love….

  64. Comment posted by bcuster on June 27, 2009 at 11:33 pm (#1021203)

He throws gas…but it’s hittable. I say this is a bargain for us. That being said Perez could turn into Cy young given the opportunity.

  72. Comment posted by JTR on June 27, 2009 at 11:37 pm (#1021208)

another sign of omar waving the white flag

ok. he struck out 5 in two innings work today. his era is below 4.0 now. he walks too many. at least he seems to have gotten the long ball problem under control…

how’d the wings do in the draft. I guess it doesn’t matter really, anybody they get turns into gold.

  76. Comment posted by bcuster on June 27, 2009 at 11:45 pm (#1021211)

The Detroit Red Wings walked away from the 2009 NHL draft saying they’d nabbed three first-round picks — without actually using one.

The Red Wings ended up with forwards Landon Ferraro, Tomas Tatar and Andrej Nestrasil in the first three rounds after dealing their first-rounder (29th overall) to the Tampa Bay Lightning for the 32nd and 75th picks

the wings should’ve won the cup this year. i never in a million years thought they could/would lose a game 7 at home. that was a shocker, to say the least. hockey (ncaa & nhl) were not good to me this year :(

you know you are spoiled when you say you had a bad season…Maybe your probem is that your teams are to good, and anything less than perfection is a disappointment. You need to start rooting for the Pirates, Rams, and….well SLU is a catholic school. No Hockey program though.
