   Wife (medical malpractice defense attorney) had her first trial (that went to a jury, a few others had settled before verdict) out in Suffolk County this week.

    yeah, it did suck. Yaphank would have as well (fun fact, Ed grew up close to Yaphank in Mastic) but not as much

    she actually stayed in Islandia at a marriot on Tuesday night. Came home last night, and left at 7:15 to get out there this am.

    A girl asks her boyfriend to come over Friday night to meet, and have a dinner with her parents.

    Since this is such a big event, the girl announces to her boyfriend that after dinner, she would like to go out and make love for the first time.

    The boy is ecstatic, but he has never had sex before, so he takes a trip to the pharmacist to get some condoms. He tells the pharmacist it’s his first time and the pharmacist helps the boy for about an hour. He tells the boy everything there is to know about condoms and sex. At the register, the pharmacist asks the boy how many condoms he’d like to buy, a 3-pack, 10-pack, or family pack.

    The boy insists on the family pack because he thinks he will be rather busy, it being his first time and all.

    That night, the boy shows up at the girl’s parents house and meets his girlfriend at the door. ‘Oh, I’m so excited for you to meet my parents, come on in!’

    The boy goes inside and is taken to the dinner table where the girl’s parents are seated. The boy quickly offers to say grace and bows his head. A minute passes, and the boy is still deep in prayer, with his head down.

    10 minutes pass, and still no movement from the boy.Finally, after 20 minutes with his head down, the girlfriend leans over and whispers to the boyfriend, ‘I had no idea you were this religious.’

    The boy turns, and whispers back, ‘I had no idea your father was a pharmacist.’

    They were just hamming it up the first hour with the comedy but the ‘bots were still pretty awesome. John Turturro should fire his agent though.

    The Florida Marlins placed pitcher Matt Lindstrom on the 15-day disabled list with a right elbow sprain.

    Following Tuesday’s extra-inning win against Baltimore, Lindstrom said he felt soreness in his forearm area. The club’s closer entered the ninth inning with a three-run lead but coughed up four consecutive singles and two runs.

    Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez apparently has the right-hander on a no-throw program for four weeks, so the closer spot may be filled by current relievers Leo Nunez, Dan Meyer and Brian Sanches.

    For the season, the 29-year-old is 2-1 with a 6.52 ERA and 14 saves in 32 games.

    To fill the roster spot, Florida recalled right-hander Chris Leroux from Double-A Jacksonville.

    Yeah, the first one = everything that was wrong with Return of the Jedi only in one big movie. The third one had some nice darkness to it. Natalie Portman was really annoying though. The lines they gave her were so tragically bad.

    Well they mention BABIP going up and that LOB going down.

    But ya know what…..his K rate is low…..a guy that throws 95 with good offspeed stuff……he’ll probably see that go up a bit………the BB rate is high……hopefully that can come down.

    Im still an hopeful about Nieve.

    except one is for kids and the other is for adults who used to watch the cartoons as kids. You could try to develop a character, i mean he did have almost two hours to do so and they took a pass.

    The new star wars movies are fine in my book. You were never going to satisfy the hard-core geeks looking to hearken back to their childhood.

    I thought the dialogue in 4-6 (especially 4) is quite lyric actually. (”Governor Tarkin, I should have expected to find you holding Vader’s leash. I recognized your foul stench when I was brought on board”)

    The problem most people had with 1 and a bit less of 2 is the annoying characters (jar jar binks for example)

    But I would rank #3 as the 3rd best of the whole set.

    The problem with NIeve is that his career MLB walk rate is about one every two innings which isn’t very good. He definitely has a strikeout rate history better than this though so that will help.

    You’re right about that. I was going to say #3 or #4 depending on how I feel that day. It’s definitely in the conversation with the original three which is more than you can say for 1 or 2
