There is a chance, slim , that Tatis comes up with the bases loaded. Did you know he hit two grand slams in the same inning? Off the same pitcher in fact

hahaha! Seriously?? That actually happened?? ;-)

  14. Comment posted by levinhatz on June 23, 2009 at 10:18 pm (#1017322)

Well we were bound to have a few of these with this lineup. Nieve goes tomorrow, good luck to him.

Thats gotta suck to be that pitcher. Who the heck was he again? Anyway, he’ll always be “Hey, your that guy who gave up 2 grand slams in one inning” Id rather be Anthony Young. At least he became famous for a bit.

  16. Comment posted by Bob Loblaw on June 23, 2009 at 10:19 pm (#1017324)

True story. He’s the only player that’s ever done it. Didn’t he hit them both off the same pitcher, Chris?

  17. Comment posted by levinhatz on June 23, 2009 at 10:19 pm (#1017325)

Yes ten years ago when Tatis was a good player (which didn’t last too long) he did that. I believe he was with the Cardinals. They replay it every time Tatis comes up with the bases loaded.

    No doubt.

Yes, both off Chan Ho Park. When Chan Ho started against us, I believe inexplicably Tatis sat.

  22. Comment posted by MyFavoriteBaseballSquadron on June 23, 2009 at 10:20 pm (#1017329)

Yeah Tatis hit them off of none other than Chan Ho Park. But he was wearing a Cards jersey then.

I really hope he keeps it up. I like him. I think he could be what Ollie was suppose to be.

Whatever, the adage goes that you’re going to win 60 games and you’re going to lose 60 games and it’s the other 42 games that will determine how you’ll end up. Unfortunately for Mets fans, Tatis and Jerry will have a direct hand in determining most of those 42 games.

Only one of my co-workers is a Real fan and he would probably mention the fact Elmer Dessens threw two scoreless before Hansons game. Dessens was horrid for the Braves last year. Too bad he won’t be in tomorrow so I can vent. The rest are observers who chime in when things are going good (Basically any win) for the Braves.

Do our catchers have more RBIS than our third basemans (one game for tatis I think but dont know if he did anything)

  64. Comment posted by Jersey John on June 23, 2009 at 10:34 pm (#1017358)

    Bart Hubbuch

oel Pineiro, loser of 8 of his previous 9 starts, has faced only one #Met over the minimum through 5 innings and thrown just 48 pitches.

I didn’t know that. Jeeez they need offensive help!!

  65. Comment posted by metswin2009 on June 23, 2009 at 10:36 pm (#1017359)

David Ross a Backup catcher for the Braves has 1 more hr then Wright, so does Seth Smith
(rockies), and Orlando Hudson as well. Plus Hudson has only 2 less rbi’s. Man, Wright needs to be a leadoof hitter

  66. Comment posted by metswin2009 on June 23, 2009 at 10:38 pm (#1017360)

OMG Im looking up mall the major loeaguers with 4 homeruns and imm just getting sick. Its pathetic. I cant look anymore. I need to talk the dogs for a walk or something. Peace out all. GO nieve!!!

  67. Comment posted by Jersey John on June 23, 2009 at 10:45 pm (#1017361)

…I have to admit, that was a good one.

Ramon, it’s the coaches quote from Hossiers, my favorite sports movie ever. And probably in my Top 15-20 overall.

Just before the Championship Game, to show the court’s the same, the coach (Gene Hackman) tells a player to get a tape and he measures the distance from the floor to the basket.

Some would name it the best ever. A minority probably, but it’s worth consideration.

The connection (clue) with the previous movie quotes is Dennis Hopper’s character.
