Maybe it takes some getting used to, but Ogre didn’t like the look of Citi Field on the TV. Not enough orange!

I dont get the Sheffield move unless he is just a bat off the bench. I think Church, Murphy, Tatis are fine in the OF.

Is anyone else scratching their head on this???

    Timmy;

Do you see Dallas McPherson as a fit for the Cards until Glaus returns?

CatchDog…I thought the Cards were going with David Freese for the time being…we got a young 3rd baseman of the future Brett Wallace, who may get some time, depending on what he shows in the minors

Ollie looks great, BTW. Who is that error on? Hopefully not Perez. We wouldn’t want it to tarnish such a fine first inning performance.

Awesome! Say, can I adjust my 2009 prediction of first grand slam hit in Citi Field to be a Red Sox player?

Ahhhhhh! I missed the sound of boos from disgruntled Mets fans.

    Yup. It’s baseball season!

There’s really a school called bemidji state? Do they play baseball? Do they need a $36M pitcher? Can we trade them for a goalie?

Another implosion by Oliver? I don’t know how people say he is unlucky. It seems to me that he makes his own luck out there with the way he responds to errors.

Of course, we all see who made the error don’t we? Tatis or Murphy can’t be much worse than this knucklehead.

  47. Comment posted by sheadenizen on April 4, 2009 at 2:46 pm (#945097)

Ogre, Ollie can’t pitch. Period. Maine needs 50 pitches to get 3 outs. And Wright can’t throw across the diamond. Ladies and gentlemen….your 2009 New York Mets! ;-)

  48. Comment posted by sheadenizen on April 4, 2009 at 2:49 pm (#945098)

Ramon, the error was the least of Perez’s problems. Look, I’m not defending castillo, believe me, but he didn’t give up 4 walks in the inning.

Totally agree. Oliver makes his own bad luck.

I know its the first time Gee is facing the BoSox, and that this gives him advantage but he really looked better than Maine or Perez.

PJ: of all the teams in the tourney, two teams looked marvelous: Miami and Bemidji.

Bemidji is going to be the overwhelming underdog in the arena on Thursday: they’re going to have a lot of people rooting for them to beat Miami. While this is both schools first appearance in a Frozen Four, this is probably Bemidji’s best chance EVER to win a title. They’ll be moving to the WCHA soon in all likelihood and the joy of the auto bid from the CHA will be lost. They’ll face better competition of course, and have a much higher RPI but they will be at best a mid-tier team in the WCHA.

This is their moment. Miami on the other hand has a very young team that is likely to be just as good if not better next season. With MichSt in all out rebuilding mode, and Michigan losing a valuable group of seniors+Palushaj(sp?) the Redhawks only competition in the CCHA will be Notre Dame. Miami can and will get back to this position again soon. But we’ll see what happens. No one looked better than Bemidji and Miami, and they’ll be playing each other in the early game.

BU (my team) will be playing in the late game against perennial thorn in Terrier paw Vermont. That game is a complete toss-up for me. BU has been #1 for a while in the PWR but hasn’t played well since a 5-0 pasting of UNH in January.

Like they say, that’s why they play the games. If you want me to get you some FF merchandise pj, I could oblige. I know you’re not likely to be there, you’re overseas right?

    Hey Ramon-

I just wanna know now, are you actually going to root for ALL our players this year, or just use this Board to bash Perez and Castillo every time the make a mistake…cmon, be a Supportive Mets fan, not one of the many who cant wait to boo our own players..

The GD season hasnt even started yet….

As for Sheffield, I think Omar has proven he has a weakness for old players who used to be great. Sheffield was freakishly good in his day, though one has to wonder how mauch was due to steriods, which I assume he isnt on anymore. Hes 40, at least he’s cheap. It kinds does make them look stupid for not having another RH bat now..

Isnt it funny - if we signed Bonds, there’d be outrage, but Sheffield no problem.

Maybe he’ll play well, the team sure does seem to have doubts about Church, who I kinda like…

All those Big East teams and it looks as though there won’t be a single representative in the final. Ouch.

I don’t know why it bothers me so much. Cerrone also was annoyed by it, but for a different reason than mine. The color of the outfield wall doesn’t feel right. Cerrone says the black (dark grey) and orange reminds him of Camden Yards and the Orioles. I just think it looks weird, its not a great fit. For some reason all I think about when I see the outfield wall is Batman. I have flashbacks when I was a kid watching batman on tv. The wall reminds me of the old bat mobile….to the point where every time I see a fly ball to the outfield I am reminded of Commisioner Gordon, Batman and Robin, and all those cheesy episodes where anal retentive batman is running to the next emergency. (I know they probably chose those colors to tie in the NY Giants since the Ebbetts theme was so pronounced.)

Church can’t hit lefties to save his life.

Sheffield, that’s about all that remains that he can do.

Tatis could’ve been a fluke, Shef’s insurance against that.

    It’s that easy, NJ.
