Cool, so I’m not alone on the not wanting to mortage the future for a QB.

Though the idea of Clemens or Ratcliff as starter scares Ed.

More than the idea of Castillo playing 2nd for the Mets the next 3 yrs.

    LOL

I’ve given up all hope of the jets ever winning. I’m ok with whatevah! no expectations

I still havent decided whose jersey i want. I got a $200 NFL gift card to use!

I’m leaning towards Revis but Bart Scott is tempting!

to expand upon my previous point, and i agree, its not a big deal, its the internet. we got the fill pages SOMEHOW.

anyways, only having established brand name advertising that everyone and their mother has heard of, only helps in bringing in more top-end advertising the next year and so on. its a beast that feeds on itself partially. companies see the other companies up there and think maybe we should be up there too. they see companies they dont want to be associated with and they dont think maybe i should be up there too, they just don’t imo.

so that kind of shit could potentially hurt our money in a long-term sense and the money is money argument imo.

you dont think the faggy ass skanks and the bullshit rep they’ve built up around that team helps bring in things like advertisers and money? i think it certainly does. and who even knows how they do it, they have as much scum if not more than us and do stupid shit all the time, but you still hear about “yankee class” all the time. its annoying honestly, but whatever. the point is about the money in this instance.

    Speaking of Yankee scum……

LAKELAND, Fla.–The daily meeting between the media and Jays’ manager Cito Gaston was dying down when one reporter asked what Gaston thought about allegations made in a new book about disgraced pitcher Roger Clemens.

In his book The Rocket That Fell to Earth, author Jeff Pearlman says Clemens, who arrived in Toronto the same season the Jays fired Gaston as manager, influenced the club to bring in Gaston’s replacement, Tim Johnson.

Gaston, it turns out, hadn’t heard the news, but it’s not like hearing it changed his image of Clemens. That’s been entrenched for more than a decade.

“He’s an a—–e himself. A complete a—–e,” Gaston said with a chuckle. “And I’ll say that loud, right in his face. It was all about him. Ain’t about nobody else but him.”

For the next five minutes Gaston, who is starting his first full season in his second stint as Jays’ manager detailed the strained relationship with the star pitcher, who had signed with the Jays before the 1997 season after burning out with the Boston Red Sox.

Gaston praised Clemens for his work on the mound, saying the 354-game winner always gave his best effort on days he pitched, winning 41 games and two Cy Young Awards as the AL’s top pitcher in two seasons with the Blue Jays. But for the four days in between starts, Gaston said he couldn’t deal with the seven-time Cy Young Award winner.

“When he’s pitching, everyone’s in the dugout pulling for him, but when he’s not pitching he’s not in the dugout,” Gaston said. “I didn’t feel like he supported his teammates as much as he wanted support.”

Though Gaston said he didn’t know of anything specific Clemens did to get him fired, he said Clemens did flaunt his influence with the club’s upper management, even asking Gaston if he wanted to keep his job as manager or lose it.

He also challenged Gaston’s authority in front of the team, once questioning the manager’s refusal to pull Pat Hentgen from a game. Gaston says Clemens never brought those criticisms to his face, and he regrets not confronting him over it.

“He wouldn’t (confront me). One of us would have had an ass whuppin’ that day,” Gaston said. “It might have been me, but he still would have known I was there.”

    NY JETS NEXT QB ,,,,,,,,,,,

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP)—An agent for suspended NFL star Michael Vick told a bankruptcy court on Thursday that he hopes the ex-Atlanta Falcons quarterback could return to the league by September.

Joel Segal testified as part of a hearing to assess Vick’s plan to emerge from bankruptcy, which was designed with the goal of Vick returning to a professional football career. Vick, who left a federal prison in Kansas last week to travel to Virginia, was in court for the first time in the case. He is scheduled to testify Friday.

To return to a team, Vick still must apply to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to be reinstated. He hasn’t yet done so, Segal said, and plans first to finish his 23-month sentence for bankrolling a dogfighting operation. He will return to his family and community, and when he is ready, start working with strength and quarterback coaches.

Segal said he’d try to negotiate a one- or two-year
