2009 MetsGeek Prediction Contest

Opening day is almost upon us, which means it is time for the annual MetsGeek Prediction Contest. Grand prize is still to be determined, but let me assure you that it will be shocking and spectacular. (Although, it might be something absurd and of low value that I buy at the Mets Clubhouse. I’ll decide at the end of the competition.) ;-)

The contest is more or less the same as last year. I’ve adjusted the tiebreaker from HRs to team OBP and added two new categories: first extra base hit recorded by a member of the pitching staff and first member of the Mets organization to be ejected. Many thanks to a couple of my Geek pals (Danny and Dep) for those additions and for general expert opinion-giving.

For those of you who want to review last year’s contest, here’s the link. As many of you may remember, Confused built a very slick spreadsheet to keep track of the competition last year. I’m going to do my best to recreate a similar sheet and Confused has graciously agreed to help bring it up to code and post it on the site.

Update: Confused has already completed the spreadsheet. Which means that he is doing all of the work and I am just writing a few lines of text. I love this job!! ;-)
