i have a wedding in arlington so if tell me where it is, i will holla and spend 200 bucks or so, as long as its not too tricky for me to find. i like drinks

Easy to find. It’s right on Pennsylvania Avenue, SE. Between 14th and 15th. Two bars on the block. His is the further southeast one called “Wisdom”.

Chris, what did his fastball look like? I’ve heard everything from sitting 88-89 to 92-93.

i think i’ll drink beer tonight, no scotch till tomorrow nite

this whole having to get in on-time shit just kills me :P

while doing the bsg podcast, ronald d moore always mentions what scotch or burben he is drinking.

btw dep, i left early but it looks like it came. i am told i have a yellow envelop on my desk.

also, i went to citifield again. im in promanade club row 2 behind home, but to the first base side.. my only issue if the lf corner. no biggie.

the 1st row in my section, you are looking through the railing to see some of home. leaning forward a bit takes care of that.

in the sections where there are the signage leds, you cant look through the railings (duh), but leaning forward or sitting at the edge of the seat take care of most of that. other wise you cant see first or home. eeek.

row 2 and up dont seem to have any issues.

if you have a seat on the second part of the promenade and you are next to the steps, you are watching the game through the glass.

i really like the ada seating in the promenade.

my rep said they will work with you if someone wanted to change.

    btw im 5′10″

He was hitting 92. It has some real late movement. Kid was over pumped. He needs a change of pace pitch. I heard he has a circle change but he didnt use it when I was watching. I can see why they are excited.

yea i honestly have a friend to manage and 2 other friends that tend bar, i would start with them. they’ll probly only steal a little hahaha

NYC is a bit crazy for a bar. i’d really like to do it somewhere else. my one good friend has managed like 10 places over the years and the horror stories are crazy. so much can go sooo wrong. I think you can minimize some variables more if i go out of nyc.

whatever, i probly wont do it.

best of luck with the new place.

    yup.

i also looked from the lower level. they can definately move them down, without much obstruction to the ppl sitting there. other than fly balls. and this is only for the last couple of rows. from these rows, you cant even see the out of board scoreboard now, so a little lower wouldnt hurt much.

nyc would be a hard place to break into the bar scene…we have a lot of little hoods that are springing back to life here, so you just have to pick the right area and sick it out, hope the hood catches up with you..you don’t want to be the Alamo in a shitty neighborhood…

sucks about lew….specially with a youngin on the way.

tim, a lot of bars in Philly started that way. The neighborhood I lived in went from shitsville to yuppie town over about 10 years and a lot of bars really took off that got in on it while the housing values were still low and they could buy the buildings.

    RE: absinthe

It’s a higher proof anisette. I’ve got some Suisse La Bleue prior to the ban lift. In order for them to smuggle it out of the country and into ours, they had to make it clear as opposed to it’s signature green. Also no professional labeling. I like it because it tastes very much like anisette, but with a bit more kick.

It’s bad rep comes courtesy of a vicious French wine industry that was getting worried about it’s widening popularity. There is nothing wrong with the stuff. It doesn’t make you high, it doesn’t make you hallucinate, and it sure as shit won’t kill you any faster than any other liquor on the market. It’s all bullshit, particularly all the fear over the use of wormwood.

Yup. I love anisette. Italians in this country typically use Stock, but that shit sucks. Marie Brizard is the way to go. It’s French, but I can look past that. ;)

Anyway, I love absinthe. Though you don’t wanna go putting that in your espresso. Stick with the anisette or sambuca.

Here’s a look at the lineup for Friday’s 10 a.m. “B” game against the Mike Piazza-coached Italian World Baseball Classic team. The Mets will use Mike Pelfrey and Francisco Rodriguez on the mound, which gets them out early, but also gives innings to fifth-starter contenders Livan Hernandez and Freddy Garcia against the Cardinals at 1:10 p.m.

    Andy Green, 2b
    Jose Coronado, ss
    Fernando Martinez, dh
    Bobby Kielty, rf
    Nick Evans, 1b
    Ramon Castro, c
    Jose Valentin, 3b
    Rob Mackowiak, lf
    Cory Sullivan, cf

There’s nothing to worry about. Like I said, it’s no worse than any other hard liquor. Lots of negative vibes around that stuff, all of it bullshit. Make no mistake, it’s powerful. 90 proof. But so are many other liquors out there. If you like that type of liquor (the taste for instance), then you should try it. It’s a unique experience.

    mad,

i know somebody who knows somebody.

they are giving tours to those who are thinking of getting season tickets. i already had season tickets so, i should of technically have toured (let alone twice). but the first time we moved seats.

ppl taking the tours have to purchase the tour for $50 (non refundable). we didnt pay anything. season ticket holder are going to be given a tour b4 the season starts they say.

this is a collage of all the pics i took during both visits. it take a bit to load, but you can zoom in if you want.
