It’s bombs like that from Beltran that make me greedy for more. He’s due for a longer hot streak than the brief one he had last homestand.

Belty might not be “living up to his potential” or whatever… but he’s one of the few guys on this team hitting like a major league starter.

    Viva la Mole.

What a way to break the losing streak - thank you Beltran!!

But that just was not fair to Pelfrey.

  16. Comment posted by metswin2008 on June 11, 2008 at 11:09 pm (#724459)

I still think hes overrated. Dude he only hit a 2 run homer. Reynolds hit a 3 run homer. OVERRATED

  17. Comment posted by Turning Point #5 on June 11, 2008 at 11:09 pm (#724461)

I love how Beltran is the only guy who gets pissed on by fans of his own team in a game where he ends up 2 for 4 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs. Only Mets fans I swear.

  18. Comment posted by Kneel Before Zod! on June 11, 2008 at 11:09 pm (#724460)

I agree Ramon. I’ve never been a big Beltran backer, but its wrong for people to bury him right now, as I posted earlier b4 the walkoff.

Well, since I said pelfrey should be in the minors, three straight good ones. Maybe he is onto something. Big test in anaheim next week.

I guess walk-off HR are overrated.

The pitches Billy threw to Jackson and Reynolds were embarrassing. Reynolds was a same pitch Tony Clark hit.

  60. Comment posted by metswin2008 on June 11, 2008 at 11:26 pm (#724499)

Danny, its Ok dude its Plutoid and Carlos Beltran sucks. Its just the way it is. We must get use to these things :(

  61. Comment posted by metswin2008 on June 11, 2008 at 11:27 pm (#724500)

I hope Billy can bounce back. We cant afford to have him pull an Aaron. BTW, Nice couple of innings from Aaron

The Milky Way solar system should trade Plutoid for a few prospect moons and an asteroid belt. Get it done Sun’s gravitational pull!

Aaaron is the ultimate cock tease of all relief pitchers. He puts out a few times, but he usually leaves the fans blue-balled more often than not.

  67. Comment posted by metswin2008 on June 11, 2008 at 11:31 pm (#724505)

Nite Danny. Who knows maybe Pluto can bounce back and become the planet it has been in the past. Ronnie thinks it can, lol

  68. Comment posted by Turning Point #5 on June 11, 2008 at 11:32 pm (#724506)

I heard the Andromeda Galaxy is making a run and wants Plutoid for a medium sized quasar and a few meteors. Don’t do it Milky Way galaxy!

  69. Comment posted by metswin2008 on June 11, 2008 at 11:33 pm (#724507)

This is why i think he either a) needs to go to the minors for some fine tuning or b) bring him in blowouts and smaller sample roles. He lacks confidence and these little 2 inning jobs arent doing it. He needs a good month of positive things. I think hes just lost that edge.

  70. Comment posted by Turning Point #5 on June 11, 2008 at 11:35 pm (#724508)

You never know with Aaron. I think pitching in NYC with all of the media and especially the fan bullshit has gotten to him. I still think he’d be better served by a change in venue.

  71. Comment posted by metswin2008 on June 11, 2008 at 11:38 pm (#724509)

Your probably right but I think the confidence thing has shaken him. You can almost see him going through a melt down when he doesnt have it. Its like Doug Sisk all over again at times. I think a good month of positive stuff may help but a change of venue would probably be better. Maybe we can get a descent OF/1B back in trade. Omar needs to make some moves and inject some life into this team

  72. Comment posted by Turning Point #5 on June 11, 2008 at 11:41 pm (#724510)

We could use something, that’s for sure.

  73. Comment posted by metswin2008 on June 11, 2008 at 11:42 pm (#724511)

Would love to see us get a Garkop type guy in return. I know we wont get Garko but a 1st baseman who has a little potential. Or even an OF. Throw in a minor leaguer and get it done. We need life

  74. Comment posted by Turning Point #5 on June 11, 2008 at 11:43 pm (#724512)

I hope I am wrong, but I think we should trade Aaron and other guys for whatever we can get.

When I was in 5th grade my science teacher asked my how planets there are in the solar system. I said 8 and got a grade of D. I want my rightful Fking A now Mr. Seitzer!

  76. Comment posted by metswin2008 on June 11, 2008 at 11:46 pm (#724514)

Its gonna be interesting to see if we will be buyers or sellers this year. Only time will teall. We have had some bad breaks but if it continues I think you have to make some moves for the future of this organization. You cant just let guys walk

Maybe we will hit their BP tomorrow after wearing it down tonight. They pitched a lot of innings tonight. Big Pelf going 8 saved ours somewhat.

  82. Comment posted by Ellis Dee on June 12, 2008 at 12:04 am (#724520)

Haha, well I got to thinking of how many times something like that must have happened to kids. Or how many scientists would have laughed in your face over the years if you told them there are only 8 planets.

So many things are taught as gospel only to be proven wrong at some point.

  83. Comment posted by Dave Magadan on June 12, 2008 at 12:16 am (#724521)

And from minor league action Mike Carp continues to rake going 3-4 with 3 rbi’s and his OPS is at .964 I mean come on guys he’s hitting .363! Make a move…Niese with a nice line as well 6 inn. 7ks 2BB and 4 hits. Evans another HR ho hum!
