Ed, things are going well with her. We are taking it real slow, which has been hard for both of us because we are both like each other. She has embraced baseball (and the Mets. Fav players are David Wright and Ryan Church) and it looks like I might be seen at a country concert in the next few months, which is something I swore I would never be caught dead at.

Who determines when the game will be played?

Why were they so quick to dismiss two sat or sun or one mon? Understood the yanks would like to see it played later on but still.

    The teams work it mutually.

Logistics and TV. Yankee Stadium would have a hard time turning around two sellout crowds for a DH. They probably try to avoid them. The Mets don’t want Monday night because it’s a travel day and Yankees don’t want to lose the revenue from making it TV game.

They could have done it on Sunday. it’s an 8:00 ESPN game. They could have had a 12:30 day game and had plenty of time to turn the stadium for the next game. They just want to wait for ARod and Jorge to return to the fold!

  85. Comment posted by sheadenizen on May 16, 2008 at 8:40 pm (#695815)

The Cavs are LeBron James and a bunch of bums. Danny Ferry is like the Bill Bavasi of the NBA.

They could be very very good if it wasn’t for his stupidity. There’s a narrow window to work championships into the rotation. Ferry is blowing it big time.

Good news is… a rest day for Castillo and Delgado, maybe that’ll buy a coupla games of hitting out of them.

I’m telling you, the Angels got a lot of things the Mets need wasting away on their bench and the only thing the Angels need is middle relief… the only thing the Mets have even a whiff of a surplus of…

I’m just sayin’. Mets need a legit 1B/OF guy and Anaheim of El Segundo, Santa Clarita and Westlake Village has two of ‘em rotting on the pine.

I am no fan of Boston’s, in fact, I don’t like their franchise much at all. But let me say that they were railroaded in the last 2 to 3 minutes of this game 6. The officials looked like they wanted a game in Boston to me.

  113. Comment posted by lucienlc on May 17, 2008 at 8:58 am (#695839)

Adam Bostick getting rocked tonight 7h, 5 er, 2HR in 3.1 ip. I think the Mets need another starter next Sat in CO - doubt Pedro will be ready by then - could be the return of Figgy.

Or maybe Stokes. Mets may want to look at someone different.

Speaking of Figgy, has it been 10 days? Has he (and/or Sosa) cleared waivers? Accepted a demotion?

  114. Comment posted by lucienlc on May 17, 2008 at 9:02 am (#695840)

Cancel that — Stokes seems to be gone. What happened to him?

Could be Ruddy Lugo, I guess. He’s on the 40 man roster.

  115. Comment posted by lucienlc on May 17, 2008 at 9:09 am (#695841)

Wrong again — Stokes is still there, just not on the 40 man roster. Same with Tony Armas. Both I suppose are possibilities, but I don’t see the Mets making another roster move if they can help it, so Adam Bostick or Ruddy Lugo are probably the two most likely candidates if another starter is needed.

    Bostick (2-1): 43.1 IP, 42H, 6HR, 24R (24ER), 19BB, 28K, 1.41 WHIP

    Lugo (3-1): 40 IP, 36H, 16R (12ER), 5HR, 10BB, 33K, 1.15 WHIP

    I vote for Lugo.
