The Official, “The Hills” The Journal.

Ok, I admit. I’m an insanely competitive person. The problem is I never win. There are precious few things in this world that I can say I’m first at. I used to have the most commented journal on this site. My pleading to trade Reyes last off-season drew around 90-95 comments. It’s been that way for a few months now. Until today. Until that damned Soccer journal drew 225+ comments.

(Soccer? I’m not even going to call it Football. It doesn’t deserve it. I also don’t care if it is, “The World’s Game.” Guess what? The World sucks. The rest of the World gave us Nazism, Celine Dion, SARS, Global Warming, The UN, Andruw Jones and Hello Kitty. **** the world.)

So, where does that leave me? Alone, poor, drunk and with hygiene issues? Yes. But I used to have something. Something tangible. Something I could claim my own: My incredible ability to attract people to comment on my pomposity and ****-stirring. That’s no more.

It is my intention to reclaim what is rightfully mine. I will yield to a person whose abilities are greater than mine. But that was not the case here. This Soccer journal is like Yadier Molina. It’s an aberration, nothing but pure luck combined with little-to-no design.

Thus, I give you, the uneducated and nearly illiterate masses my opus. The crowning moment of my intellectual evolution: “The Official Mets Geek ‘The Hills’ The Journal”. I’ll be honest, I don’t watch the show at all, so I can’t comment on it.

(Who am I kidding? I love it! Spencer and Heidi! Lauren! Audrina! Whitney! What’s not to love? There’s more vacant stares in one episode than an entire game pitched by Steve Trachsel!)

Yo, Geoff. Two problems with this little vendetta:

(1) Your Jose Reyes thread only drew 81 comments, not 90-95 as you remember.

(2) Dep’s beaten your pitiful “record” three times since then. First with the fantasy league thread and second with the nickname thread. These record-breaking performances occurred at the beginning of March.

Try showing up a little more often.

Now, all well and good if you want to best the 291 comments (291!), but “The Hills?” I’m debating tearing this down on principle. C’mon, dude. It’ll be lucky to break double digits.

Also, this Journal isn’t your, “Upcoming Starters” column. It’ll get into the double digits, easily. Don’t be jealous.

Finally, this “Dep” you speak of. I’ve already concocted a scheme to take care of him.

Is the Hills that that show were those rednecks find oil and move to Beverly?
