Anybody see that catch by Reed of the Cubbies….Best catch since edmonds back to the plate dive with the Angels…

If Delgado doesn´t wake up in the next month, then I think the Mets should eat the contract. The cost is sunk, and if they replace him with a cheap pickup or a rookie, then it won´t effect the budget. After all, they way he´s going now a replacement couldn´t be much worse.
And Tony Armas did pretty well yesterday at NO. Hmmm…

It was probably mentioned yesterday, but Delcos reported that Milledge was benched by the Nats for arriving late at the park… and that it wasn´t the first time. Things that make you go hmmm…

Interesting about Millo. If thats the case then I am glad he is gone.

I agree on Delgado. Reyes does not look good at the plate. He is taking bad swings and looks like he is sulking.

The team just does not have it. The Spark seems gone.
There are alot of holes in the pitching staff, relief and we know about Delgado and Moistless.
Whats up with Schneider??? Castro??? Pedro??? Duque???

Look, while I’m concerned about Reyes’s lack of walks, he has been hitting the ball hard with little to show for it. I have faith that the tide will turn with regard to #7.

I was hoping for a rainout, but it looks like it’s clearing up. Too bad!

I’m very sorry to say that I was at the game last night. gag-gag-vomit Didn’t show up here after because I was too disgusted and wanted to erase the taste in my mouth, not dwell on it.

That’s the second absolutely awful game I’ve seen this year. It gets to be so I’m afraid to watch right now. Unbelievable how bad this team can be.

Reyes at least seemed to make better contact on a couple of swings last night, even if he hit them right at the OFs. Wright, otoh, looked as bad as I’ve ever seen him. Pagan can do nothing now.

Pelfrey looked like he was doing it on smoke and mirrors all night. I was thrilled he somehow managed to go five and only give up three, but of course the sixth inning took care of that. Ugh.

    Two hits. Nuff said.

Something is very wrong when Eddie C comments this morning about how everyone knows that Kelly Johnson is a first pitch fastball hitter, and Pelfrey throws him - what? - a first pitch fastball. I bet Schneider wouldn’t have had him do that. Get well soon, Schneid. We’re 1-5 (or is it 1-6 now?) without you.

The fans were really angry too — there was an ugly mood in the crowed. Terrible, terrible fight broke out after the Braves took the lead, down in the expensive field level seats between third and home. I didn’t see the beginning, but it was ugly — at least one person got injured (head bleeding), and things were thrown violently between people, even after the ushers got there to try and break things up. If it’s that bad for Mets/Braves, I shudder to think what this year’s Mets/Yanks series is going to be like.

Fans booed the hell out of Pelfrey when he left (not me), and they booed later on when the Mets stranded runners. The game took forever, even though almost nothing happened apart from a lot of walks. It was an incredibly ugly game and totally miserable to watch, esp since it was also a lot colder than anyone would have expected.

In a word, blech. If things can get worse, I don’t want to watch. Fortunately, today at least, I don’t have to, as I’ll be driving a friend to her country house in PA, and she doesn’t have a tv hooked up there (and they wouldn’t have the Mets even if she did).

If Milledge really is getting into a habit of coming late to games, for Manny Acta the Good, who seemingly has supported and coddled him, then that trade looks even better to me now.

Hey Luci. Sorry you had to sit through that. I’m simply hoping that this is the low point and things will improve from here. I can’t allow myself to think anything other than that. You know things have hit bottom when the Rays have a better record than the Mets!

Amazing to hear about the bs at the stadium… I seem to
remember it was like that at yankee stadium 30 yrs ago; I
think i went once with a neighbor. any way, if the team
is playing so incredibly poorly, and you’re at risk of
being assaulted there by some mental case, why would you
go ? they cant allow this shit to continue if they are
hoping to cash in at citifield next year… that fact
also leads me to believe they wont stick with delshitto
all year long if he remains in the 190’s. they just
cant afford to lose the fanba$e. The Braves are mashers
Only positions we can claim an edge at is CF,SS,3b.

Andy, look at Yunel Escobar’s numbers and Chipper’s numbers. The only two places we have the edge is RF and CF.

…and he won’t the first or the last guy to come late to games. Shit like that happens in the course of a long season. It gets handled and everyone moves on.
