It is a 1963 caddie fleetwood. My dad restored it and I inherited when he passed away. He had 4 at one time. A 69 convertable, a 67 coupe, a 73 de ville and the car pictured.
What a depressing AB

So are you implying that he learned to be come a league-average pitcher for the 4 years he pitched for the Mets an not during the last 2 years (1998-200) when he was in D-Backs system and finally put it together?
Nope - I wanted to know what you thought - which you still haven’t answered. And now I no longer care what you think. Ciao.
If he could get his other pitches over for strikes he’d be fine. Thats really his downfall. I think he’d be better off learning that in AAA, were he can dominate guys for awhile. If he continues to struggle up here the fans will go nuts. Its tough to try to “learn” in New York
To me, he can’t learn in NY because he has pressure on himself to win here. If he would go down to AAA and take a beating throwing sliders on every count imaginable, he’d be better off in the longterm. That’s what Santana did when he was in the Twins minor league system.

If Willie is fired then Omar should be fired as well, since he hired willie and lately has made some awful decisions that are killing the Mets. The biggest decision or non-decision that Omar has to face and i wonder this outloud here in Atlanta is why isn’t there another firstbase man on this team. You don’t take out a guy hittin .190 something and replace him with a a player hitting .156 thats just crazy. I mean this isn’t Willie’s fault entirely. Its not Willies fault if Pelfrey can’t consistantly throw strikes and can’t developed any secondary pitches to get out lefties. Its not Willies fault that Omar signed Castillo to a new four year contract and then after the contract decided he can’t walk anymore. It’s not Willie’s fault that Mike Jacobs is a Marlin right now and probably has 7 hrs more then Delgado. Its not Willis fault that Omar didn’t go out and get a great relief pitcher. Its not Willies fault that Oliver Perez has mental shutdown after 4.5 innings and then can’t seem to throw strikes.
I know if my job was in crisis like I think it will be with Willie here soon, I would be demanding that Pelfrey go to the pen, bring up John Niese. I would then have to tell Omar that Delgado needs to be off this team because Omar loves him and he will consistantly put him in the game. Eventually its going to get bad for Delgado where everytime his name is called up he will be booed by everyone in the stadium. I noticed that Mets don’t have true backups they have utility men except for Endy Chavez.
Its time to bring up Carp and Niese, if nothing esle Niese can be the long man in the pen because between Pelfrey who follows Perez our pen is having to pitch a lot of innings. Somehow Willie is going to have to split Perez and Pelfrey up we can’t have back to back nights of 5 innings pitched.
We have journymen manning our triple A team where there is no reason what Tatis should even be wearing any uniform. I look at our triple A team and I’m like are you kidding me? Our double A team can beat the Triple A team.

I just got back from the game. Fitting it should start raining 1/2 way back to Jersey after a night like tonight. One of the worst Met performances I’ve seen, and I’ve been going to Shea for the last 25 years. Whoever post # 26 is (Griffyusa)your 100% right dude. Willie is the cook, and Omar bought the ingredients. For whatever reason, Omar has a boner for Delgado and Pedro Martinez. Always has. Jacobs could have been a great 1st basemen for us for many years.
Martinez is another story. I saw another guy on this site compare him to Bret Saberhagen’s time with the Mets. Same duration (4 years)… 1 good year, 1 fair year, and two poor, injury prone years. Fact is Saberhagens time as a Met was better! We paid this guy 54 million for 1 good year. I can hear them laughing from Boston! Even if he comes back, he ain’t helping us much. The Marlin’s were hammering him, even before he strained his hammy.
The team I saw tonight, had no heart and the fans in attendance felt it and let the Mets know it. I realize its still April, but a statement has to be made. Maybe just releasing a guy like Delgado would light a fire. I can’t believe that Mike Carp would be much worse.
