OH SNAP, i actually feel bad for him, BUT NOT THE PHILLIES

According to WIP Radio in Philadelhia, Phillies 2B Jimmy Rollins has a broken ankle.

  6. Comment posted by Ed in Westchester 2.0 on April 23, 2008 at 5:52 pm (#667112)

Oh, I don’t see that as a dig on Billy.
The starters haven’t gone deep in games yet. Just like last year.

If Willie is really following Wags request, he’s an igit.

I think wags has come into at least 1 non-save game this year.

Maybe if the guys in the pen weren’t walking guys (Dos) or giving up home runs (numerous), we wouldn’t have to worry.

To partly defend Wags, he was tired at year end last season, so it is somewhat smart to limit his innings. Problem is, the rest of the pen is gonna be tired.

imagine if he further aggravated it (or even broke it) when they made him PH 3x over a week+ after he hurt it originally.

that is a bad mishandling if it happened like that

And I thought the Mets medical staff was stupid. The Phils let him play on a broken ankel to pinch hit and run…..? Some heads will roll!

    roto has this now……

Jimmy Rollins reportedly was found to have a break in his injured left ankle.
If that’s the case, he may need to miss another four to six weeks. The Phillies have yet to comment, but they’ll probably have to talk about the matter before the end of the day.

Cool, that’s the way it should be. The plots are so awful they’re distracting; you’d think they’d eventually figure out to borrow a simple idea like the original plot for “Game of Death” and just let Donnie go to work.

Oh, speaking of “metsies” (is this John Maine posting?), did anyone notice that Carlos Delgado dyed his goatee black? The grey creeping across his chin is now gone, Just for Men style! Amazingly, it failed to reverse the toll that the aging process has taken on his ability to play baseball, though at least he looks good for the ladies at his Sunday afternoon Bridge games.

Silly timmy, I was never going to take Rollins in a trade even if he was healthy. The whole reason I wanted to trade Smoltz for a SS was to upgrade at that position and purify my team (no Yanks/Braves/Phils). Going from Smoltz to Rollins would be like trading a cold for food poisoning. I’m sure you understand (or at least you will when someone offers you a Cub)
