So funny. More and more Braves fans are coming out of the woodwork saying that there’s no proof that HGH does anything for an athlete and that Jordan Schafer is fine….

    who cares whether there’s proof.

its illegal. and he did it.

    cheater.

2007 was also his year where he “put it all together”. You have to doubt his prospect status now.

    its been boring

  22. Comment posted by Dep on April 9, 2008 at 4:35 pm (#650265)

    89′

Esposito gets a freekick on the right flank after a tame foul from Rooney

    88′

Park’s effort on goal brushes the roof of the net after Doni did just enough to put him off

    87′

Time almost up and one has to say the it has been comfortable for United, they did the damage in Rome. Roma has tried but come up short against a side which even without Ronaldo looks an awesome outfit

    86′

Each touch Neville has it being greeted by huge cheers from the OT faithful - a fond welcome for the right back and club skipper who has suffered so badly with injuries over the last year

No, dep, you don’t get it: they’re saying HGH does NOTHING for an athlete so all of Schafer’s skill is REAL!!!

  25. Comment posted by DoctorK16 on April 9, 2008 at 4:36 pm (#650267)

For something that hasn’t been proven to work a lot of guys have tried it. Plus he tried it the same winter that Clemens had to go to Congress over it and the Mitchell Report came out. How dumb can you be.

well lunk, tell them to go f**k their sisters and cry about it to them.

I’m sure if a bigtime other team’s prospect was caught they’d be defending it the same way! yuh huh

    90′

A brave effort from Roma, but United were just too good on the night and over the course of the two legs. Three English sides in the semi-finals; follow them here at ESPNsoccernet!

    90′

That’s the whistle! 11 consecutive Champions League home wins for United, a new competition record.

  30. Comment posted by Ed in Westchester 2.0 on April 9, 2008 at 4:41 pm (#650271)

Yes Deppy, no doubt if a mets prospect was caught, fans all over the country would rush to his defense.

Just like they did for Clemens and Pettitte.

I’m surprised the story didn’t say something like “surprisingly, former mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski was not involved. Also, despite exhaustive research, we can find no link between Schafer and the Mets in any way.”

    D’OH!

Orlando Hernandez will be in a boot for the next two weeks because of a tendon strain in his right foot.
That’ll back him up at least a month. Mike Pelfrey is locked into a spot for a while now, and the Mets should reconsider bringing in Claudio Vargas. Jeff Weaver and David Wells are other free agent options still out there. As things stand now, Nelson Figueroa is the fifth starter.

    LOL @ roto

Cubs optioned LHP Carmen Pignatiello from Triple-A Iowa.
Pignatiello pitched two-thirds of an inning in a week and a half, and the Cubs were terribly let down that he struggled. He’ll know better next time.

Seriously, we need to either pick up Weaver or Vargas. We have to assume that El Duque is not coming back. We need someone to solidify a rotation spot.

By the way, if there was ever a great time for Pelfrey to figure it out, this is it.

Tonight, the Mets will begin to win.

Pelfrey will show not flashes of talent tonight, but consistent talent every batter and every inning.

    Reyes will set the table.

The middle of the lineup will clear it.

    The pen will not falter.

    Yesterday was the bottom.

    Today, the climb out begins.

The rest of the NL East, nay, the entire NL better watch out.

The Mets are going to start kicking ass and taking names tonight.

    LET’S

Mets too old and no support for DW, Reyes and Santana
Yanks too old and pitching too young and just a mess.

Umpire Doug Eddings - He’s an easy target. On August 28, 2005, Jeff Weaver hit Craig Biggio with a pitch, but Eddings didn’t award Biggio first base, claiming Biggio didn’t make enough effort to avoid being hit. He’s the only umpire to make such a call against Biggio, and it’s well within the rules for him to do so, even if it was not the right call in that particular circumstance. That only technically kept 1 plunk out of Biggio’s total, but it may have demoralized him and made him less willing to take plunks, knowing the umpires may not react properly, and reward him for taking one for the team.
