Everybody loves rankings, and everybody loves guys named Reyes, so I thought I could clear up some of the roster confusion by ranking the top five in camp with the Mets:
1. Jose B Reyes, SS (Age 24)
Last year’s stats: .280/.354/.421 with NY Mets.
Comments: Steals lots of bases, smiles a lot, makes people happy.
2. Raul Reyes, OF (Age 21)
Last year’s stats: .233/.321/.433 for Brooklyn Cyclones
Comments: Has tools, but struck out every 2.5 at-bats.
3. Argenis Reyes, 2B (Age 25)
Last year’s stats: .278/.313/.360 with Akron Aeros (AA)
Comments: 27 SB. Hit a nice double the other day, bad ESPN announcer thought he was a prospect.
4. Rene Reyes, OF (Age 29)
Last year’s stats: ??????????????
Comments: hit .330 in six minor league seasons with the Rockies but struggled in the majors.
5. Jose A Reyes, C (Age 24)
Last year’s stats: .214/.284/.325 at AA Binghamton
Comments: Switched places with the other Jose Reyes during the month of September.
Honorable Mention:
Jorge Reyes, P (Age 24)
Last year’s stats: Five scoreless innings (and a win) with Savannah.
Comments: Suspended twice, which isn’t a great way to start a career, but an excellent way to end it.
you’re crazy, rene reyes over argenis reyes?!?!? you dont know anything about reyeses!!!!
(all ranking lists need that guy to yell and scream)
