Fernadao! Breaking out in a BIG WAY! On base 4 times!

Who the hell pitched for Round Rock? Damn……

Humber doing his best to confirm that there is no question that Sosa should be up to replace CHP/El Duque next.

FMART, truly a boy among men, continues to ride a positive learning curve. Pitch selection (so/bb) has been really good lately.

Unfortunately, you are right BMF. I spent the whole winter that Omar would trade Humber for an “established” pitcher with a lifetime 4.5 ERA, then was surprised and disappointed with his spring training, and then expected Humber to throw lights out in AAA. I am really surprised. Hopefully, he is healthy.

Yes, Sweetlew, Carvajal does seem to have control issues! He must have pitched a lot of pitches in 4 innings.

I wouldn’t give up Pelfrey or Humber’s potential for a quick fix ’till July this year, no way, no how.

I’d much rather limp along with Sosa and/or Pelfrey’s and Humber’s young inconsistencies until Pedro comes than… mortgage the future for three more wins in May and June.

Park is crap, of course, a half-step above Lima Time.

But I’ve always been a “look to the future” guy.

I’m still semi-depressed that we’ve got Delgado running on empty and the Marlins have Mike Jacobs who’d be an All-Star in ‘08 if not for that dude in St. Louis, Al Whatshisname.

I still believe that Lastings Milledge has near-All-Star potential if allowed to actually start every day for two solid months and really get settled in.

My major premise is that… the Mets have the resources to have the third highest payroll in baseball and so there’s no reason to trade away hot prospects, ever, because you can always buy your stop-gap measures on the free agent market.

The Mets don’t have to trade anybody, in my humble.

Hang on through the injuries, let the rookies get more comfy and if those two options don’t work, buy something nice in November.

Pelfrey looking very mediocre in the bigs and Humber looking pretty bad at AAA. What are the Mets long term plans for pitching? We needed one of these guys to be an ace, and that looks doubtful at this point. Are we comfortable with a rotation in ‘08, ‘09 with Perez and Maine at the top??

True, Mike, but hopefully Pelfrey turned the corner in his last start. But what’s up with Humber? I can’t buy that his success last year, but lack of success this year has to do with AAA rather than AA. I hope he is pain free and injury free? He did continue to pitch a bit several years ago before they diagnosed him. Anyone know how fast is his fastball these days? Any other specifics about his pitching?

Here’s the plan. Step 1: after this season ends, take a large bag, stuff it full of $80 million+. Step 2: throw said bag at Johan Santana. Step 3: should Santana duck, throw said bag at Carlos Zambrano.
