Brown and Stoner are having real solid years at Brooklyn…very nice to see. Ruckle is having a decent season too but like Stoner & Brown.
Is there a Mets fan around who wouldn’t want Stoner to be the second coming of Seaver. The headline writers have got to be praying..ie
isn’t Brown only 22? that’s not obnoxiously old for NY/Penn league but if he’s good they should start moving him quickly next year, start him off at St. Lucie or something.
The problem is that Brown started the year at Hagerstown and wasn’t very good thus moved down to Brooklyn and dominate to help the Cyclones.
Werent they using Brown both as a starter and out of the pennin hagerstown? That has to be hard to do
in 20 games in Hagerstown that brown pitched in, only 6 were as a starter
Hag 3-2 5.29era, 20G, 6GS, 63 ip
Maybe he just wasnt cut out to be in the pen, starting he seems to be doing slightly better :-), hes probably one of those guys who need to get himself ready for a start. Something you dont get when your in the pen.

Well the thing that really jumps out for me is
Hagerstown 63IP 24BB
Brooklyn 70IP 4BB
Walking only 4 batters in 70 innings is great…..seemed his control was alot better at brooklyn then hagerstown and thats the the big reason he was so sucessful there.
Is Hagerstown a hitters league? If theres alot more good hitters in the league that could be the reason for more walks. Maybe the guys in Brooklyn just swing at everything.
Congratulations to Gary Carter and the St. Lucie Mets who wrapped up the FSL playoff series winning the first 2 games of the best of three series against the Palm Beach Cardinals.
The Championship series starts on Friday with the Mets awaiting the winners of the Fort Myers Miracle vs. Dunedin Blue Jays series which is decided tonight.
Let’s go Mets!!
Well if it is……the hitter certainly werent on the hagerstown team lol. Ive seen them play a couple times. Outside of fernado martinez….there werent too many guys over .260 lol
Hey I just recently started to follow the Martinez kid. He’s only 18? Not bad to be in high A ball already. Hopefully lofty comparisons and moving the kid up to fast dont impede his growth.
17
he’s 17. Not only that but we got another 17 year old as well that will be in stlucie next yr……..guerra……pitched very well for hagerstown this yr and should start in lucie next yr.
