the manager of the si yanks ran back on the field in his flipflops to yell n try to fight after he was ejected earlier for arguing strikes
Wdwrkr don’t worry dude we all have bad days. I lost both parents to cancer and my sister had breast cancer so I understand and my prayers are with you. I hope you got some good news today and beat this thing. The Japanese pitcher did look awesome , that translated to 95mph but its always a risk with those guys. Unfortunately the Yankees are high on him so I don’t like our chances.
Thanks dude, so far ther results are A-ok, next time I go back and get the bone tap and that will be definitive.
21-6 good god what a slughter, no wander there was a bench clearing
3 bean balls LOL, maybe pedro is down there giving them tips
Watching LA-SD on ESPN and they just showed a real bad collision between Utley and Rowand.
udamn-unless their faces are broken like carlos and mikey from last year, I dont wanna hear about it. ;)
Wdwrkr - did you see after the warning there was another pitch right at the guys head and the ump did nothing? I was like oh boy here we go again.
WOW washington is 22 games back now, I didnt think they were that bad.
Their not, we’re that good
yeah dpty that was real close to his head too LOL, hey a ball pitchers are wild
cbssportsline had Rowand out of the game but utley is still playing
Rowand’s faces was bleeding but Utley stayed in.
rowand is taking a beating this year
say what you want about him but little has the club playing well
Wasn’t Kent a bum when we had him?
no kent was average when we had him, but his stats skyrocketed when he went to SF, wonder if he started the barry bonds workout when he went there?
heh after watching the doubleheader between hagnerstown and wv i have come to one conclusion
Hagerstown is bad……..very very very bad. With martinez gone i dont think theres anyone on
that team who hits over .260 and the pitching is god awful. They lost 7-1 and 4-0….the manager
got tossed as well as a pitcher…they are a complete mess.
Going to see guerra tomorrow……maybe he can turn things around for them.
100% correct. You don’t ‘fool’ hitters in the postseason — you need an out pitch, an unhittable, Brandon Webb, Mariano Rivera, Roger Clemens, ‘Here it is, b*tch’ pitch. Guys like Tudor are lucky if they can sneak out a win in Game One, but if they have to face the same team two or three times in a week, they’ll get crushed. Bannister pitched well in April but 4 K’s per 9 won’t cut it in October. I’d rather see Perez up there. I realize he’s an unknown quantity right now, so bring him up this week or next and see what he’s got. Lightning in a bottle, could be.
Yeah, and a real pr*ck too. He threw a hissy fit when the Mets pulled the old ‘Steal the rookie’s clothes and make him wear a goofy outfit on the bus’ routine. Dude, it happens to everyone, calm down. Your real clothes probably didn’t look that great anyway.
I still say Green would be a terrific pick up for the postseason run. Regardless of this year’s numbers he’s still a dangerous bat and could do some damage in October. I realize that the OF is overly left-handed, but how many southpaws are we going to face in the playoffs? Not many tough ones in this league:
Eric Milton, 5.01 (ERA) Reds
Jeff Francis, 3.39 Rockies
Andy Pettite, 4.86 Houston
Mark Hendrickson, 4.05 Dodgers
Cole Hamels, 4.50
Randy Wolf, 4.35 Phils
I’m pretending the Twins and Tigers don’t exist by the way.
if the D-backs put Green on waivers all some competeing team(with a worse record) Has to do is claim him, then they can just give a rediculous offer to wich the d-backs would turn them down. Don the d-backs have to take him back off waivers for a month? In a sense blocking us from getting him?
Thanks Tom finally someone understood my point. It has more to do with the makeup of the rotation than it does with Perez. I wouldn’t even mind Pelfry because he has a power arm but then we’re taking a chance on hurting a young ptcher. When a major league pitcher has mechanic problems they go down to fix it and then they come back up. They don’t stay there for a year. Trachsel had problems years ago and went down, worked out his stuff and came back. I don’t think he’s as fragile as people think. He did not want to be a finesse pitcher he wants to pitch like this and now he is. We have a ton of young pitchers so why not take a chance with a guy who has better stuff than anyone in our rotation. Oh yeah and he’s a lefty.
Mahalo.
hahahahahah nice play Drew!!!!
Get to the cheapies you footbaggers!!!!!
Cameron Triples!!!
mdog1111 what worries me about Perez is that he may be one step this side of Rick Ankiel. Put him under the spot light of the playoffs and/or the ws and if he gets crushed you may not be able to put the pieces back together again. So much of the game is mental that even “The Jacket” might not be able to help. Also a lot of young pitchers when thrust under the spotlight are so damned nervous they couldn’t throw a strike if they wanted to and many of them don’t. They don’t trust their stuff and try to nibble and start falling behind in the count or walk the universe.
I am going to visit some friends in oct. so I guess I’m going to have to take a little trip to Mesa. Last season, we were in surprise so this trip will be a heck of alot easier to make since Mesa is on the easy to get to side of phoenix from Tucson. I don’t understand why ABreu is going to the fall league. He might be the oldest guy in that league ever.
so it looks like Gibbons started the skirmish with Lilly
looks
like gibbons is a looose cannon, I bet he doesnt make it to next year
I agree but I don’t see him as a young guy who will fall apart in the spotlight. He pitched in front of big crowds in 2004 when he was the only show in town and he seemed to feed off it. I know what your saying about Ankiel but that is rare. And he never had the year Perez had. We also dont have that much invested in him. His turnaround looks like it was mechanical more than mental. Again if him pitchin in a couple of meaningless games in August and September are going to turn him into mush, then I say lets find out now and not waste our time.
Looks like houston is sucking, hopefully we dont have to face thier big 3 in the playoffs,
They’re the only team that scares me at all in the NL
man St Louis’s Pitching is AWFUL
Yeah we would light them up. After Carpenter they have nothing
Later guys, I gotta get up early tomorrow
Lets see the Pardres win that division , then we have a clear path to the WS
yeah im crashing too have a good night everyone
I found this quote and bout cryed from laughing so hard
That was about Glavine
good news on tommy g: a source told the post that surgery isnt required and he might be back next week, would be awesome…
http://www.nypost.com/sports/mets/toms_terrific_mets_mark_hale.htm (also features a quote of charlotte’s manager about oliver perez)
minaya in the dailynews on perez:
I don’t think anyone will claim him off waivers because the D-Backs would just let that team keep him and pay his whole salary. And he is WAY overpriced for next year. That’s why the Mets will only do it if Arizona eats alot of the money. I’m assuming that he has already cleared waivers successfully.
Another thing on Green is that because of his no-trade clause he cannot be put on waivers and be claimed since he gets to pick where he goes.
Please correct me if I’m wrong - it’s my understanding that the roster for the playoffs is set on 8/31 plus the anyone who is on the DL. If that is correct, then why not DL Glavine through 8/31. Keep Pedro and Floyd on the DL into September. That would give you 28 to draw from instead of 25.
Totally off topic, but I just read in the paper that Cliff Floyd’s sister died last week of cancer. Did anyone else hear about this? Poor Cliff….wonder if he’ll be able to get his head together. He’s a good guy and has had a tough time lately.
